Rajveer and Naina had been married for almost eight months now. Rajveer worked at a reputed IT firm in Mumbai, while Naina ran a cozy little cafรฉ just across the street from his office.

Their love story had started one casual evening, when Rajveer dropped by the cafรฉ with a few colleagues. He hadn't expected much more than coffee and a quick break โ€” but instead, he found Naina.

Sparks flew instantly.

They began talking, met a few more times, and within a month, Rajveer was certain she was the one. He told his family about her, and to his delight, they were thrilled. They insisted on meeting Naina's family, and soon enough, both sides hit it off wonderfully. Within two months, Rajveer and Naina were married.

The honeymoon phase was sweet and full of little joys โ€” morning teas, shared lunches, late-night walks.

But lately, things had changed a bit.

Rajveer had been swamped with work for the past few weeks, staying late at the office and often coming home after Naina had already gone to bed. The time they usually set aside for each other had quietly slipped away into deadlines, emails, and exhaustion.

They both hoped to make up for it over the weekend, only to find themselves pulled into a relative's wedding celebration instead.

Rajveer had gotten ready earlier than most, dressed in a crisp cream-colored kurta that made him look effortlessly charming. He had gone ahead to help with the arrangements for the wedding function, and the venue was now buzzing with guests, music, and the clatter of last-minute chaos.

As he checked that the flower decorations hadn't fallen for the third time, his phone buzzed in his pocket. One new message โ€” from "My Jaan ๐Ÿ’–".

"Wow, husband! You're looking hot!"

Rajveer couldn't help but grin. He casually glanced across the room and immediately spotted Naina standing on the other side, pretending to be involved in a conversation but very clearly checking him out.

His eyes automatically swept over her โ€” she was wearing a beautiful pink and cream saree paired with a deep-neck blouse that he knew was no coincidence. The woman knew his weaknesses all too well.

He typed back quickly:

"My wife is looking no less, my love. Very sexy."

The moment her phone lit up, Naina peeked at the message and then shot him a smirk that said, "I know." Without missing a beat, she typed again:

"Let's sneak into one of the guest rooms. I'm sure they won't notice. ๐Ÿ˜"

Rajveer read it and nearly choked on thin air. He looked up at her, wide-eyed in mock horror, mouthing, "Here?! Seriously?"

Naina giggled, looking like an absolute angel with a devilish plan.

He shook his head, trying not to laugh, but the blush creeping up his ears betrayed him. He quickly texted back:

"Behave, Mrs. Shikhawat. There are aunties within five feet of me."

"Then walk away slowly. I'll distract the aunties," she replied, followed by a wink emoji.

Rajveer sighed dramatically and muttered under his breath, "This woman will get me disowned one day."

But even as he said that, he straightened his kurta, fixed his hair in the phone camera, and began looking for the nearest escape route.

But no matter how many times Rajveer tried to sneak away, he failed miserably. Every time he took a step toward freedom, a relative would magically appear out of nowhere and hand him some chore or the otherโ€”arrange the gift boxes, find someone's lost slipper, click a group photo, or explain how to connect Bluetooth on an uncle's ancient phone.

An entire hour passed like this, and by the end of it, Rajveer looked like a defeated warriorโ€”hands on his hips, hair slightly tousled, and eyes scanning the crowd like a fugitive searching for an escape route.

Just when he was about to give up all hope, he heard a voice ring out over the music.

"Rajveer? Listen, I need your help with something. Come with me!" Naina called, already walking away like she meant business.

Rajveer blinked, unsure whether this was a genuine request or her sneaky way of giving him an escape route.

His doubts didn't last long.

"Why are you standing there like a statue? Go help Naina beta!" his father barked from the side, snapping him out of his daze.

"Right, Papa. Of course." Rajveer nodded dutifully and bolted after his wife like a man on a mission.

Naina led him through the crowd, past the buffet and the giggling aunties, straight to the store room. And the moment he stepped in, she shut the door behind him with a decisive click.

Rajveer raised an eyebrow. "So... what exactly needs help in here?"

Naina gave him a wicked smile, "Oh, I'll let you know in a minute."

Twenty minutes later.

Rajveer finished fixing Naina's pleats before getting to his feet. He had a wide, pleased smile on his face โ€” the kind that came from stolen moments and a little mischief.

Naina shook her head in amusement. "Fix your hair. They're a mess," she said, smoothing her own pallu back into place.

Rajveer ran his fingers through his hair, trying to tame the tousled strands. "Do you think they'll know?" he asked, eyeing her curiously.

"Know what?" she replied, pinning her pallu with casual grace.

"That we snuck out to romance," he teased, leaning closer with a grin.

"They're too busy to notice us," Naina replied with a shrug, unfazed.

"Good," he said, clearly pleased they'd gotten away with their love fest.

"Let's go before someone does notice," she said, adjusting her jewelry one last time.

They exited the storage room as smoothly as they had entered. Naina blended seamlessly into the group of chatting female guests, smiling and adjusting a few flower arrangements like nothing had happened.

Rajveer, meanwhile, walked back to his father and older brother, trying to act natural.

But the moment he reached them, his father narrowed his eyes and smirked. "You've got that face, beta โ€” the one that says you've been up to no good."

And his older brother added with a chuckle, "Twenty minutes in the store room? Should we be expecting a surprise announcement next month?"

Rajveer groaned, running a hand over his face as they both laughed.
