Mr. and Mrs. Ahluwalia were on their way to visit Naina and Rajveer's house โ their very first visit after the wedding. It should've been a happy occasion. Should've.
Abhishek, Naina's father, was on full grumble mode. He hated Rajveer. And why? Because Rajveer had been Naina's teacher at the military academy.
In Abhishek's eyes, Rajveer was nothing short of a cunning villain who had "seduced" and "manipulated" his innocent, naรฏve daughter into marrying himย using his rank and six-pack abs.
No matter how much Naina or her mother tried to convince him otherwise, Abhishek was as stubborn as a mule with a grudge. He was convinced Rajveer had tricked his little girl straight from the classroom into matrimony. And possibly used notes, charts, or PowerPoint slides while doing it.
"Abhishek ji, please," Meera, his wife, sighed as their car neared the house. "Behave yourself. Don't bring up that whole teacher-student nonsense again. Rajveer is our son-in-law now."
Abhishek huffed, crossing his arms like a man preparing for war. "If he can marry his student," he snapped, "then I can remind everyone about it!ย Fair deal!"
"Seriously?" Meera groaned. "You sound like a jealous classmate who didn't get invited to the wedding!"
"That brat tricked my sweet, innocent daughter," he huffed. "I'll never forgive him. Not even if he serves me laddoos on a silver tray."
Meera rolled her eyes. "You say 'brat' like he's a teenager sneaking into your daughter's room. He's a grown manโand your son-in-law. Behave!"
Abhishek continued cursing Rajveer under his breath.
This visit was going to be fun. And by fun, she meant mildly horrifying with a high chance of flying sarcasm.

Rajveer was just returning home from the headquarters, where he'd been posted for the past few months. It was this very posting that made his marriage to his former protรฉgรฉ, Naina, possibleโmainly because he was no longer a faculty member at the military academy and Naina had graduated a few months earlier.
Of course, that didn't stop people (read: Naina's father) from making it sound like he'd run away with his student during lunch break.
Rajveer, being the strategic genius he was, had also buttered up his seniors just enough to get Naina posted to the same headquartersโthough in a different department. It was all very by-the-book... mostly.
As he reached the front door and fished out his keys, he heard footsteps behind him. Instinctively alert, Rajveer turnedโready for anything.
Except them.
It was Mr. and Mrs. Ahluwalia.
Rajveer blinked, genuinely surprised. Naina's parents hadn't visited once since the wedding a month ago, thanks to Abhishek's undying suspicion that Rajveer was some kind of romantic conman disguised in uniform.
He quickly collected himself, smiled warmly, and bent down to touch their feet.
Meera smiled and blessed him, patting his back fondly. "Stay happy, beta."
Abhishek, on the other hand, did something that deserved an award for pettinessโhe moved his foot away like Rajveer had cooties.
Rajveer, being Rajveer, straightened up with perfect grace and the kind of calm that comes from years of dealing with explosives and teenage cadets. He acted like Abhishek had done nothing weird at all.
"Namaste, Uncle. I'm really happy to see you here," he said politely, as if the man hadn't just tried to juke him out like a footballer protecting his ankles.
Abhishek gave him a curt nod that said, Don't push it, Romeo.
Rajveer only smiled more brightly.

Once inside, Meera and Abhishek began scanning the house with the hawk-eyed precision only Indian parents possess. Meera admired the tasteful dรฉcor with a polite smile, while Abhishek silently judged every wall color like it owed him money.
Meanwhile, Rajveer excused himself with a polite smile and headed to the dining area to fetch some refreshments.
His in-laws had come over for the first time and he wanted to impress them. So, he decided to make some aam panna for them. Rajveer had just poured three glasses of chilled aam panna and was setting them on a tray when he heard the bedroom door open.ย
He thought Naina would come out and see her parents and greet them. But that didn't happen. Instead, Rajveer heard the unmistakable sound of a saree rustling behind him and the soft click of heels on the floor.
"Someone's looking very serious today," came a low, sultry voice from behind him.
Rajveer straightened slowly, eyes widening slightly as he was VERY familiar with this tone of his wife's. He turned his head just a bit โ and there she was.
Naina.
His wife.
His very seductive wife.
She was wearing a deep maroon saree, draped low at the waist, with a sleeveless, barely-there blouse that left little to the imagination. Her hair was styled in soft waves, and there was a playful smirk dancing on her lips.
Before he could say a word, she stepped up behind him and pressed her body against his back. Her arms snaked around him, fingers trailing slowly over his chest, tracing his medals as if they were hers to claim โ which, in her mind, they absolutely were.
Rajveer stiffenedโnot from desire, though that was certainly there, but from sheer panic.
"Naina..." he began, voice barely a whisper. "Jaan, listen..."
But she cut him off by turning him around and gently but firmly pushing him against the edge of the dining table. He stumbled back, clutching the tray like a lifeline, his eyes wide with alarm.
Naina's fingers traced his chest with lazy confidence, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "What's the matter, Major Rajveer Singh Shikhawat?" she teased, voice husky. "Afraid I might launch an attack?"
"N-Naina..." he squeaked, sweat forming at his temple.
She leaned in closer, her lips brushing his ear. "You've been ignoring your duties, sir. I believe this soldier deserves some... very personal attention."
Rajveer's ears turned pink. He could feel her breath against his skin, her hands boldly traveling to places they definitely wouldn't if there were guests in the house.
"I'm warning you..." he croaked.
"And I'm tempting you," she whispered, trailing her finger down his abs like a slow countdown to disaster.
That was when a loud cough echoed from the living room.
Naina froze.
Rajveer slowly tilted his head toward the source of the sound... and saw Meera standing near the couch with a tight, polite smile.
And beside her, Abhishekโwith arms crossed and eyebrows raised so high they nearly reached his hairline.
Rajveer cleared his throat. "Surprise," he muttered, shooting Naina a told-you-so look.
Naina turned a shade of red that could challenge the sindoor in her hairline. She squeaked, grabbed the pallu of her saree to cover herself more modestly, and darted behind Rajveer like a guilty schoolgirl..
Abhishek stared at his daughter, then at Rajveer, then back at his daughter. "I always thought Rajveer was the one seducing my daughter... but looks like it was the other way around all along."
There was a moment of awkward silence... and then Meera burst out laughing.
Rajveer just sighed and picked up the tray. "Would anyone... like some aam panna?"

A/N:ย I swear Naina almost gave Rajveer a heart attackโand her poor papa a blood pressure spike ๐คญ
Who knew his innocent daughter had this bold side, huh? ๐ฅ
So... what did you think of the "Oops, surprise!" moment?
Do you think Abhishek will ever recover from this shock? ๐
